What does Primo Hardwoods sell?
Primo Hardwoods offers hardwood products for woodworking, DIY projects, home décor, and other creative work. Please review each product listing for specific details about what is included.
What are Primo Hardwoods pen blanks?
Primo Hardwoods pen blanks are prepared pieces of Australian redgum timber for making turned pens and other small woodcraft projects. Each piece has its own natural colour, grain, gum veins, and timber character.
What size are our pen blanks?
Our standard pen blanks are approximately 20–25 mm square by 125–150 mm long. Exact dimensions may vary slightly between batches. Please check the individual product listing for the confirmed dimensions of the blanks currently available.
How much do your pen blanks cost?
Redgum blanks are priced at $5 each.
Bundle pricing is available as follows:
Starter pack (5 blanks) — $22
Builder pack (10 blanks) — $40
Workshop pack (20 blanks) — $75
Bulk maker pack (50 blanks) — $175
Do you sell Australian redgum slabs? Are the slabs kiln-dried or naturally dried?
Yes. Primo Hardwoods may offer Australian redgum slabs and larger timber pieces when suitable stock is available. Slabs are sold according to the individual piece, so availability, dimensions, thickness, grain, drying condition, natural features, and price can vary. Drying information will be stated in the individual listing whenever it is known and confirmed. Timber can continue to respond to changes in temperature and humidity after it has been cut, so allow a slab to acclimatise before machining, joining, sanding, or finishing. Do not assume that a slab is ready for a particular project unless the listing says so.
Can I request a particular slab? Can slabs be cut to size?
You are welcome to contact Primo Hardwoods with your preferred length, width, thickness, grain appearance, colour, edge style, and intended project. We can confirm what is currently available, but a particular size or grain pattern cannot be guaranteed until the piece has been inspected and reserved. Custom cuts may be possible depending on the slab, equipment, and requested dimensions. Cutting can affect the final measurements and may reveal features that are not visible on the outside of the timber. Contact us before ordering to discuss whether a cut-to-size request is suitable.
Is local pickup available for slabs? How do I enquire about a redgum slab?
Yes. Local pickup is available by arrangement. Please contact Primo Hardwoods before ordering a slab so we can confirm the pickup location, access requirements, safe loading arrangements, and a suitable collection time. Send us the slab or product name you are interested in, your intended project, your delivery suburb and postcode, and any preferred dimensions. We can then confirm current availability, photographs, measurements, collection options, and freight requirements.
What is included with my order?
Your order includes the quantity of redgum pen blanks selected at checkout. Product photographs and the listing description will explain whether you are purchasing a standard bundle, an individual blank, a matched selection, or a specifically photographed piece.
Will my blanks look exactly like the photographs?
Listings show the actual blanks being sold whenever possible. Standard bundles may vary slightly from the photographs because redgum is a natural material. Colour, grain direction, gum veins, knots, small marks, and other features can differ from one piece to another.
Are the blanks dry and ready to use? How should I store the blanks?
The blanks are inspected before dispatch and are supplied for pen turning and small woodcraft projects. Because timber can respond to changes in temperature and humidity, allow the blanks to acclimatise in your workshop before drilling or turning. Check the product listing for any batch-specific information. Store the blanks flat in a dry, stable environment away from direct sunlight, heaters, vents, and rapid changes in temperature or humidity. Keep them protected from moisture until you are ready to use them.
How are orders packed? Do you ship Australia-wide? Is tracking provided?
Each order is checked, wrapped, and packed to help protect the timber during transit. Larger orders may receive additional protective packaging. We aim to use practical packaging that keeps the blanks secure without unnecessary materials. Yes. Tracked Australia-wide shipping is available. As a guide, shipping is approximately $7.50 for one to five blanks and approximately $16 for larger small orders. The final shipping cost may vary according to packed size, weight, destination, and the service selected at checkout. Tracking details will be provided after the order has been lodged with the carrier. Please check that your delivery address is correct before completing checkout.
